Brain donation for research is an option in some cases upon the death of a CADASIL patient. If you or your family wishes to consider this option, time is critical, as such procedures need to be completed within a short time after the patient's death. It is best to have arrangements made in advance. It may also be helpful to select an extended family member or a friend who is willing to take care of this in a timely manner during a period of grief. Below you will find contacts for CADASIL brain donation.

Both doctors and facilities accept CADASIL brain donations whether the patient has been followed by them or not.

The planning for donations is best done in advance but can often be completed at the last minute.
